Date of Exam: SSC JE Exam 2014 will be conducted by SSC on May 25, 2014.

SSC JE Examination is conducted in 2 stages:
1.      Written test
2.      Interview
Marking: SSC JE 2014 examination Written test carries 500 marks while Interview carries 100 marks.
Negative Marking: There  will  be  Negative  Marking  of  0.25  marks  for  each  wrong  answer  in  Paper 1(as it is an objective type exam) while there is no negative marking in paper 2(as it is a conventional essay type written exam).

The description of parts of written test are given below:
SSC JE 2014 EXAM PATTERN Paper 1 exam patten:
Time - - 2 hours (10:00am-12:00pm)
1.      General Intelligence & Reasoning- 50 marks- 50 questions
2.      General Awareness- 50 marks- 50 questions
3.      General Engineering (Based on Branch) Part –A General Engineering (Civil & Structural) OR Part-B General Engineering (Electrical) OR Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical)  - 100 marks- 100 questions
BOOKS FOR SSC JE EXAM PREPARATION:

SSC JE 2014 EXAM PATTERN Paper 2 exam pattern:
Time - - 2 hours (12:00pm-02:00pm)
1.      General Engineering- conventional type(Based on Branch) Part –A General Engineering (Civil & Structural) OR Part-B General Engineering (Electrical) OR Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical)  - 300 marks
Note: In Paper 1 and Paper 2 for General Engineering, the candidate will be required to attempt only one part whether it is Part-A or Part-B or Part-C as per their branch in engineering.
Answer sheets of Paper 2 which is conventional type exam will be evaluated of only those candidates who qualify in Paper 1.
2nd stage
SSC JE 2014 2nd stage will consist of Interview. Candidates who qualifies in paper 1 and 2 above as per the cut off will be required to appear in interview which carries 100 marks.

So SSC JE 2014 exam will consist of a total of 600 marks.
