IB Security Assistant Syllabus 2018 – Check MHA IB SA/Executive Exam Pattern 2018
Ministry of Home Affairs conducts examination for the posts of Security Assistants Executive. Interested eligible candidate can apply online on MHA website when the notification of recruitment is out. The written examination conducted for security assistants consists of multiple choice objective type questions. IB SA Exam syllabus with pattern is provided below.

IB SYLLABUS 2014 OF SECURITY ASSISTANT

First we will discuss 

IB SA Exam Pattern:

The selection of the candidates is done in three stages.
Tier 1: Written exam of Objective type i.e. 10 questions 100 marks 2 hours duration.
Tier 2: Descriptive test (40 marks), Spoken Ability - 10 Marks (Qualifying marks in tier 2: 20 marks)
Tier 3: Personality test / interview - 50 marks

Cut off marks of Tier 1: 
UR-35
OBC-34
SC/ST-33
(all Ex-servicemen would be treated in their own category viz., UR/OBC/SC/ST)

Tier 1 Exam Pattern:
The Tier 1 written test consists of 100 multiple choice questions. Each question carries one mark. So total marks for the written exam will be 100. The time allowed is 2 hours. The test is divided in 4 sections.
a. General Awareness (40 questions)
b. Quantitative aptitude (20 questions)
c. Logical/analytical ability (20 questions)
d. English language (20 questions)
Total Duration: 2 hours
Total Marks: 100 marks
Each question will be of 1 mark.
Negative marking: 1/4 mark of each incorrect answer

10 times of candidates who qualifies the tier 1 written examination by clearing the cut off and being shortlisted will be called by Intelligence Bureau for Tier 2. This test is of 50 marks and a candidate’s descriptive test and spoken ability will be checked. After this, those who qualifies will be called for Personality test / Interview.

Intelligence Bureau Syllabus of Security Assistants written examination's 4 sections is given below.

(a) IB SA Syllabus of General Awareness: This section will have questions on Current events of national and international level, sports, economy, politics, research etc. A candidate needs to have better general knowledge and grip on current affairs.

(b) IB SA Syllabus of Quantitative aptitude: This section will have questions on Numerical aptitude to check candidate’s ability of solving basic mathematical problems. The problems will be up to 10th standard level. So the syllabus of this section is basic mathematics syllabus of 10th class which includes algebra, geometry, trigonometry, simplification, average, mensuration, time and distance, profit and loss etc.

(c)  IB SA Syllabus of Logical/analytical ability: Questions in this section are designed to check candidate’s mental ability and general intelligence. Reasoning will have questions on series, syllogism, non-verbal reasoning, direction test, seating arrangement, blood relations, coding-decoding etc.

(d)  IB SA Syllabus of English language: Through this section, a candidate’s ability to understand and correct English and grip on English language is checked. Questions on comprehension passages, synonyms, antonyms, fill in the blanks, error detection etc. is asked.

Tier 2 Exam pattern: 
Tier – II (Qualifying marks – 20)
 Descriptive type: a) Translation of a passage of 500 words  from local language/dialect to English and  vice versa.
40 marks

 b) Spoken ability (to be assessed at the time of Tier – III exam (Interview/ Personality test)

Tier-II examination will be of qualifying nature. Candidates have to obtain minimum 20 marks out of 50 marks so that their marks in Tier-III could be taken into account for preparing final merit list on the basis of combined performance in Tier-I & Tier-III exam

Tier 3:
In this, Personality test / interview will be conducted which will be of 50 marks.
All candidates appearing in Tier-II exam would be provisionally admitted in Tier-III exam, i.e. interview/personality test.
