Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is going to conduct exam of CHSL 2017 and 2016. For that SSC regions will release Combined Higher Secondary Level exam call letter. The CHSL 2016 Tier 1 examination is held from 07.01.2017 to 05.02.2017. Now Tier 2 is to be held on 04.06.2017 and later this year, CHSL-2017 Tier 1 will be held from 17 to 30 November 2017. The current latest news is that SSC CHSL Exam Admit card for 2016 Tier 1 exam had been released by various region. SSC CHSL 2016 tier 2 Admit card 

Staff Selection Commission is scheduled to organize the tier 2 of CHSL-2016 on 04 June 2017 and it will be a descriptive type examination. The admit cards for CHSL Tier 2 will be starting to available from May 2017.

SSC will take CHSL 2016 from 07.01.2017 to 05.02.2017. For that, All SSC regions had released the admit cards at their regional websites given below.

The Combined Higher Secondary Level 10+2 level descriptive exam is scheduled to be held from 07 Jan to 05 Feb 2017. So call letter are going to be available for downloading / viewing / printing around 10-22 days before the exam as per official schedule. Regional websites uploaded them for the written exam one by one. They will be available for only those candidates whose had successfully filled the online application form and submitted the fee. Candidates need to get their SSC CHSL hall tickets from their regional website for appearing in the test.

and Court Clerks are 3281, 1321, 506 and 26 respectively in CHSL 2016.
Last time in CHSL 2015, the no. of Vacancies were 6578. The vacancies for the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC and DEO are 3523, 2049 and 1006 respectively.
All the posts carry All India Service Liability (AISL) i.e. the candidate, on selection, may be asked to serve anywhere in the country.

SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level exam consists of two parts.
1. Written Test
2. Practical Test (Skill / Typing Test)

First written exam of objective type will be conducted. Candidates will be given OMR Sheet and question paper. For every question asked, 4 options are given and one is to be selected as answer and marked in the OMR Sheet.

The written exam consist of the following four sections of 50 marks each :-

  1. English Language
  2. General Intelligence and Reasoning
  3. Quantitative Aptitude
  4. General Awareness

The exam will be of 200 marks having 200 questions. 2 hours time is given.

Here are the SSC CHSL Exam Preparation Tips:
1. Make a time table how you are going to prepared and follow that.
2. Start studying at least 3 months before the SSC CHSL exam.
3. Maintain your health the best in exam days.
4. Check Syllabus and Cut off marks (given below) to know how / what etc. about the test.
5. Divide the syllabus according to time table. Don't forget to put the regular revision time in between.
6. In the last 3 days of the exam, don't take any tension and revise as much as you can and try to make everything you remember at your fingertips.
7. Purchase good books from the market for preparation of each section of exam.
8. Read as many books as you can.
9. Solve as many previous years papers as you can. Daily solve a previous year paper or a model test paper and try to do all 200 questions correctly within 2 hrs.
10. Practice all the sections fully. Don't leave any section thinking it easy.
11. Generate or find or learn new shortcuts methods of solving numerical problem and memorize them.
12. Make a time management of your question paper. Decide how much time you are going to give to each question and each section.
Make a timetable of how much time you should give to which section.
            e.g. 15 min. for general knowledge
                        20 min. for english
                        35 min. for Reasoning
                        and remaining for quantitative aptitude
remember 8-20 minutes will be taken by the boxes you fill depending on your speed.
13. Make a time map of which section you are going to solve 1st then 2nd 3rd 4th according to their time table.
14. Emphasize more on a section you are more comfortable with and solve it first.
15. If in the test, you got stuck in any question, don't waste your time and move on to the next one.

You should target to solve at least 40-50 questions more than the above given marks for each particular category with good accuracy level.

How much candidates are going to appear for SSC CHSL 2016 :
It is expected that around 20-25 lakh candidates are going to appear for this exam. Last year in 2014, 23 lakh candidates appeared for this exam. Only for SSC Western region, around 8 lakh candidates are going to appear this time.

SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Written test is an objective type examination consisting of 200 questions which are to be attempted with allowed time of 2 hours. It consists of 4 sections which are Reasoning, General knowledge, english and Quantitative aptitude. Negative marking of ¼ applies for each 1 mark question for incorrect answer. The difficulty level of the test questions are a bit lower than CGL but only a better time management strategy can lead a candidate to score more in the exam. SSC 12th level admit card can be downloaded from direct links given above against the states.

Only those candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination, as may be fixed by the Commission at its discretion, will be called for Typing Test.

OMR Type of Answer Sheets will be given by the Commission in the exam hall for recording candidates answer of multiple choice objective type questions. OMR sheet to be filled in Dark Blue/Black Ball point pen only. 
Candidates should write his/her name, Roll Number and Test Form Number correctly, in the relevant places in OMR Answer Sheet and also affix signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression on space provided for the purpose. Answer Sheet not bearing candidate’s Name, Roll Number, Test Form No, signature and left thumb impression or in which such details have not been properly shaded will not be evaluated.

What if you did not received your CHSL admit card or not able to download it online
If any candidate does not receive admission certificate for the examination one week before the date of examination, he/she must immediately contact the concerned regional/sub regional office of the commission with proof of having submitted his/her application (in case of applications submitted under certificate of posting, the date-stamp of the post- office concerned should be clearly legible). Failure to do so will deprive him/her of any claim for consideration.
SSC LDC DEO PA SA 10+2 Level Admit card / Admission certificates (ACs) for the examination indicating the time table and also venues of examination will be issued to all applicants about two weeks before the date of examination.

Details regarding non availability of SSC CHSL Admit card 2016

Candidates who applied on-line but are unable to download their Admission Certificates or do not receive their Admission Certificates at least one week before the date of the examination should contact the concerned Regional Office with details such as Registration ID, Transaction ID of SBI Challan /Net banking/credit and debit cards, copy of challan, etc. for obtaining the Admission Certificates. Details of deficiency in application, if any, will also be placed on the Commission’s website ( about two weeks before the examination.

Candidates should bring 3 passport size colour photographs. Candidates not carrying photographs may not be allowed to appear in the written examination.

Mobiles including earphones and connected cords and other electronic gadgets are banned within the premises of the examination centres. Possession of such equipment whether in use or in switched off mode, during the examination will be considered as use of unfair means and their candidature will be cancelled. They will be liable for further action including initiation of criminal proceedings and debarment from commission’s examination upto 3 (three) years.

Candidates are warned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false or suppress any material information while filling in the application form. Candidates are also warned that they should neither attempt to alter or otherwise tamper with any entry in a document or the attested certified copy submitted by them nor submit a tampered/fabricated document. If there is any inaccuracy or any discrepancy, in filling OMR Sheet, their OMR sheets will not be evaluated.

As far as the type of questions in the test are concerned, they are designed in such a way to check candidate's reasoning, numerical, English and GK. So the objective test consists of these sections. The level of ques. are easy i.e. aspirant having some knoeledge of these subjects can qualify the exam. But they have to work harder as competition is getting tougher and tougher day by day. Mode of Selection :
Candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test/Typing Test on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination to be conducted in September / October 2016. Candidates who qualify in the skill test/Typing Test will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination. Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them. For entry in exam hall, SSC CHSL Admit card should be brought by the candidates along with ID proof and 3 colour photographs.

The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying eligibility conditions. If, on verification, at any time, it is found that they do not fulfill any, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled by the Commission. The data submitted by candidates who qualify for the Skill Test, in their application form, will be verified with the documents submitted before the Skill Test. Selection will be based on this verified data.
