UPTET Syllabus 2016 for Primary & Upper Primary Exam

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board conducts UP Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) to determine eligibility of aspirants for teaching posts. This test is conducted to find eligible candidates aspiring to become teachers of primary and upper primary class. Lakhs of aspirants take part in its written examination. Two papers are conducted i.e. one of primary (I-V) and two for upper primary (class VI-VIII). Those who are preparing for this test should know UPTET Exam Syllabus to score higher marks.



UPTET Syllabus 2016

Below you will find detailed syllabus of UPTET for both paper 1 for primary and paper 2 for upper primary. Paper 1 is conducted for class 1-5 aspiring teachers and paper 2 is for class 6-8 aspiring teachers. Both these papers have 5 sections carrying 150 marks. Below you will find each section in detail and the number of questions asked from a particular topic / section.

UPTET Paper I syllabus (for classes I to V) Primary Classes:

UPTET primary paper 1 test consists of 5 sections carrying 30 questions and 30 marks each. So total marks for the exam is 150. These sections and their syllabus is given below.
I. Child Development and Pedagogy - 30 Questions
(a) Child Development (Primary School Child) 15 Questions
(b) Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs
(c) Learning and Pedagogy 10 Questions

Unit-1 (Marks 6)
    Child Development: Concept of growth and development, Principles and dimensions of development. Factors affection development (especially in the context of family and school) and its relationship with learning
    Role of Heredity and environment
Unit-II (Marks 6)
    Meaning and Concept of learning and its processes, Factors Affecting learning
    Theories of learning and its implication
    How Children learn and think
    Motivation and Implications for Learning
Unit-III (Marks 6)
    Individual Differences: Meaning, types and factors affecting Individual differences Understanding individual differences on the basis of language, gender, community, caste and religion
    Personality: Concept and types of personality, factors responsible for shaping it, Its measurement
    Intelligence: Concept, Theories and its measurement, Multidimensional Intelligence.

    Understanding diverse learners: Backward, mentally retarded, gifted, creative, disadvantaged and deprived, specially-abled
    Learning difficulties
    Adjustment: Concept and ways of adjustment. Role of teacher in the adjustment

    Teaching learning process, Teaching learning strategies and methods in the context of National Curriculum Framework 2005.
    Meaning and purposes of Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation. Constriction of Achievement Test.

Here is the detailed UPTET Language 1 2 syllabus in detail.
This section is divided into six units, each section carrying 5 marks each.
Unit I:
Unseen Prose Passage, Synonyms, Antonyms, Spellings, Word-formation, One Word Substitution.
Unit II:
Unseen Prose Passage, Part of Speech, Tenses, Determiners, Change of Degrees
Unit III:
Framing question including -questions, Active and Passive Voice, Knowledge of English sounds and Phonetic Symbols.
Unit IV: UPTET Syllabus 2016
Principles of Teaching English, Methods and Approaches to English Language Teaching.
Unit V:
Development of Language Skills, Teaching Learning Materials: Text books, Multi-Media Materials and other resources
