This test is conducted for finding those candidates who want to make a career in air force of India. This is for admission to courses commencing in July 2018. The application process for Indian Air Force AFCAT 2 will start likely from 03 June 2017 and the last date to apply online is 29 July 2017. Candidates registering during the trial period up to 02 Jun 2359 hrs will not be considered as registered candidates. The written examination will be held on 27 August 2017. Posts to apply - Interested and eligible aspirants can apply based on their age and educational qualification for the post of commissioned officers in Flying, Ground Duty and Technical Branches of Indian Air Force.
Minimum Educational Qualification: The minimum qualification is Graduation (B.E. / B.Tech. for Flying / Technical branches). However the qualification differs for different posts. Also there are some height metrics. Check official notification for details.

Age limit:

  • Flying Branch- 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jul 2018 i.e. born between 02 Jul 1994 to 01 Jul 1998.
  • Technical Branch/Ground Duty- 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jul 2018 i.e. born between 02 Jul 1992 to 01 Jul 1998 (both dates inclusive).

Pay Scale - 15600-39100 with several other benefits including 50 lakh insurance. Check Notification for all details.

About AFCAT 2 Notification 2017 - Written examination
AFCAT written exam consists of General Knowledge, Math, English and Reasoning. Maximum marks will be 300. Total 100 questions will be asked and time allowed for the exam is 2 hours. Every question carry 3 marks and there is 1/3 negative marking. For every wrong answer given by the aspirant, 1 mark will be deducted as panelty. No marks will be deducted if the question is left unanswered. The admit card of AFCAT will be released 10-15 days before the exam.
Those candidates who apply for technnical branch, will have to attend EKT exam which is conducted just after AFCAT. It is mandatory for candidates applying for technical branch. It consist of 50 questions with one mark for every correct answer.
