Maharashtra Postman Syllabus with Exam Pattern

Maharashtra Post Office Postman, Mail Guard and Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) Revised Syllabus for direct recruitment can be checked from here. The test is divided in three parts i.e. A, B, C.
Maha Postman MTS Mail Guard Syllabus 2015

Important points:
(i) The questions on General Knowledge and mathematics will also be available in Regional Languages i.e. Marathi/Konkani in addition to English Language.
(ii) The time allowed for answering 100 questions will be 120 minutes.
(iii) Part C (ii) will be in Marathi for candidates from Maharashtra and in Konkani or Marathi for candidates from Goa State.
(iv) One Blank page will be kept at the end of Question Paper Booklet for rough work by the candidates.

Maharashtra Postman Syllabus
Maha Postman Mail Guard Syllabus is given below.

A - General Knowledge - This section will have 25 questions of 1 mark each. The examiner may set 2 to 3 questions from each topic given below.
Topics: Geography, Indian History, Freedom Struggle, Culture & Sports, General Polity & Constitution of India, Economics, General Science, Current Affairs and Reasoning & Analytical ability of 10th standard.

B - Mathematics - This section will have 25 questions of 1 mark each. The examiner may set 1 to 2 questions from each topic given below.
Topics: Number Systems, Computation of whole Numbers, Decimals & Fractions, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Simple
Interest, Average, Discount, Partnership, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Use of Tables & Graphs, Mensuration.

C(i) - English - This section will have 25 questions of 1 mark each. The examiner may set five questions from one unseen passage and 2-3 questions from each topic given below.
Topics: Articles, Prepositions, conjunctions, tenses, verbs, synonyms & antonyms, vocabulary, sentence structure, Proverbs, Phrases, questions from a small unseen passage.

C (ii) - Regional Language - This section will have 25 questions of 1 mark each. Examiner may set five questions from one Apathit Gadyansh and 2 to 3 questions from remaining topics
Topics (for Hindi): Shabd Pad, Kriya Bhed, Mishr & Sanyukt Vakya, Vakyo ka Rupantaran, Swar Sandhi, Alankar, Samas, Muhavare & Lokoktiyan, Ashudh Vakya Shodhan, Apathit Gadyansh. These topics shall be replicated in Regional
Languages.


Maharashtra MTS Syllabus
Maha Multitasking Staff Syllabus is given below.

A - General Knowledge - The examiner may set 2-3 questions from each topic given here.
Topics: Indian Geography, Freedom Struggle, Culture & Sports, General Polity & Constitution of India, Indian Economy, General Science, Current Affairs and Reasoning & Analytical ability of 10th Standard. (Examiner may set 2 to 3 questions from each topic)

B – Mathematics - The examiner may set 1-2 questions from each topic given here.
Topics: Number Systems, Decimals & Fractions, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Simple Intrest, Average, Discount, Partnership, Time & Work and Time & Distance.

C (i) – English - The examiner may set 5 questions from one unseen passage and 1-2 questions from each topic given here.
Topics: Articles, Prepositions, Conjunctions, tenses, verbs, synonyms
& antonyms, vocabulary, sentence structure, Proverbs, Phrases and
questions from a small unseen passage.

C (ii) – Regional Language - The examiner may set 5 questions from one apathit Gadyansh and 2-3 questions from each topic given here. These topics shall be replicated in Regional Languages.
Topics (for Hindi): Mishr & Sanyukt Vakya, Vakyo ka Rupantaran, Swar Sandhi, Alankar, Muhavare & Lokoktiyan, Ashudh Vakya Shodhan, Apathit Gadyansh.

Qualifying Marks:-
(a) Parts A and B – Minimum 10 marks for OC, 08 marks for SC/ST and 9 marks for OBC candidates in each part.
(b) Part C (Two segments ) – Minimum 10 marks for OC, 8 marks for SC/ST and 9 marks for OBC candidates in each segment.
(c ) 40% marks for OC, 33 marks for SC/ST and 37 marks for OBC candidates in aggregate.
(vi) Selection will be made on the basis of merit position in the Aptitude test for Maharashtra circle (Maharashtra State & Goa State) as a whole.
