RRB Group D Salary Pay Scale Allowances & Emoluments Job Profile Career Growth & Promotions: Railway Recruitment Board advertised for 62907 Posts of Group D Staff through Railway CEN 02/2018 advertisement. The Application forms for these posts had been submitted by interested candidates up to 31 March 2018. Candidates, in this vacancy, are to be selected through written exam followed by physical efficiency test. Those who got appointed by clearing all the stages of the examination, will be given the following Salary / Pay Scale Emoluments. Check out the info given below.

RRB Group D Salary 2018 Pay Scale Emoluments Allowances Job / Work Profile

A newly appointed RRB Group D Candidates will be placed in Level 01 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs. 18000/- plus other admissible allowances time to time.
Through the below given image, you can check the level 1 of 7th CPC and corresponding basic pay.

Along with the basic pay, new appointed candidates will be given various allowances such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance etc. The current rate of dearness allowance for central govt employees is 7%. Also HRA for these railway employees is 24% for Class X city, 16% for Class Y city and 8% for class Z employee (on basic pay).
So the approx. salary they will be awarded will be close to the one given below.

Current Allowance rates:
  • DA: 7% (Applicable from January 2018)
  • HRA: 24% for Class X city, 16% for Class Y city and 8% for class Z employee (on basic pay)

  • Mileage allowance of running beyond 8 km.

RRB Group D Job Profile / Description:

Assistant Pointsman:
They have to handle switches or railroad points.
Lever control to direct trains to the required tracks & directions, connections of coaches.

Porter / Hamal /Sweeper:
helping railway passengers at stations
handling loading, unloading & distribution of passengers’ luggages, maintaining general cleanliness etc.

opening and closing gates at level crossing, opening & closing of gates.

Helper (Electrical, Mechanical, S & T):
They have to perform various tasks depending upon the department they are posted. In S&T department, they are given the charge of maintenance of signal.
If one gets posted in Electrical department, they are given the charge of various electrical equipments.

Hospital Attendant:
Work related to medical facilities, indoor job, suitable for women.

Railway Group D Career Growth & Promotions:

Group D Staff Also gets promotion to Group C by giving Departmental exams. After completing 3 years of regular service, they can apply.
Dearness allowance is revised every 6 months and HRA gets revision after reaching required DA as mentioned above.
