HSSC Group D Syllabus 2018 Exam Pattern Selection Process

HSSC Group D Syllabus 2018 Exam Pattern Selection Process: Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) will be conducting a written examination for the posts of Group D. HSSC had advertised for 18218 posts of Group D (Peon, Beldar, Helper, Mali etc.). In this recruitment, candidates are to be selected through written exam and Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience. The written exam carries a weightage of 90 marks.

HSSC Group D Syllabus 2018 with Exam Pattern & Selection Process

The scheme of marks for Group D Selection will be of total 100 marks as below.

  • Written exam: 90 marks
  • Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience: 10 marks

In the written exam, Questions are to be asked from following:

  • 75% weightage to General Awareness, English, Hindi, Reasoning, Maths, Science as applicable.
  • 25% weightage to from Current Affairs, History, Geography, Civics, Environment, Culture, Literature etc. of Haryana.

The syllabus of these topics is given below.
General Awareness:
National GK - India Level: Current events, India and its neighboring countries. Important dates. Full forms
History. Geography, Economics, Culture, General Polity & Scientific Research, Sports, Awards, Appointments etc..

General Science:
This includes principles, scientific methodology, concepts, techniques and Physics, Chemistry, Biology, life sciences, Earth & space sciences, technology & inventions etc.

English Syllabus up to 10th standard:
Fill in the Blanks, Idioms & Phrases, Jumbled sentences (ordering), One word substitution. Synonyms, Antonyms, Mis-spelt words, Common errors, Grammar, Tenses, sentence improvement, Passage, Comprehension Passage.

Hindi Syllabus up to Metric Standard:
हिंदी वर्णमाला, शब्द रचना, वाक्य रचना, अर्थ,  संधि, समास, क्रियाएँ, अनेकार्थी शब्द, विलोम शब्द, पर्यायवाची शब्द, मुहावरे एवं लोकोक्तियाँ, वर्तनी, अर्थबोध, अशुद्धियाँ

Haryana GK:
25% weightage of questions will be asked from Current Affairs, History, Geography, Civics, Environment, Culture, Literature etc. of Haryana.

Socio-Economic Criteria & Experience

The allocation of marks is as follows:
a. If no person from the applicant's father, mother, brother, spouse and sons is,was or has been regular employee in any department / board/ corporation / company / statuary body / commission / Authority of Govt of Haryana  or any other state govt or govt of India. (5 marks)

b. Orphan/Widow:
i. If the applicant is Widow; or
ii. If the applicant is the first or the second child and his father had died before attaining from tha age of 42 years, or
iii. If the applicant is the first or the second child and his father has died before the applicant has attained 15 years age. (5 marks)

c. If the applicant belongs to a such a denotified tribe (Vimukt Jatis and Tapriwas Jatis) or Nomadic tribe of Haryana which is neither a scheduled caste nor a backword class. (5 marks)

d. Experience:
One-half (=0.5) mark of each year or part thereof exceeding six month of experience  out of a maximum of 16 marks, on the same or the higher post in any Department/Board/ Corporation / Company / Statutory Body / Commission / Authority of Govt of Haryana. No marks will be awarded for any period of less than six months. (a maximum of 8 marks)

Note: not more than 10 marks to be given in this criteria.
