In the recent post, we have told you about how to calculate LCM and HCF of two or more numbers quickly in seconds. Calculating LCM of Fractions is asked in many competitive exams like SSC. So it is a better idea to know formula to solve this type of problem as it is just a simple formula and also questions are quite easy to solve. Through the below given formula, we can solve the problems in which fraction's LCM is required to be done.

So now let us discuss how we can solve LCM of Fractions.

To calculate LCM of Fractions, you have to remember the following

**formula**:
LCM of Fractions = LCM of Numerators/HCF of Denumerators

First you have to learn the trick to solve LCM and HCF of numbers quickly from the previous post. Then you can easily solve this types of questions.

Let us take an example.

**Example: 1.**
Find the LCM of 9/2, 3, 21/2.

Now let us apply the above given formula.

LCM of 9/2, 3, 21/2 = LCM of Numerators/HCF of Denumerators= LCM of 9,3,21/HCF of 2,1,2

Now LCM of 9,3,21 as per the trick= 63

HCF of 2,1,2 as per the trick= 1

So LCM of 9/2, 3, 21/2= 63/1= 63 Ans.

**Example: 2.**

Find the LCM of 5/8 and 1/2 ?

Solution: Now let us apply the above given formula.

LCM of Fractions = LCM of Numerators/HCF of Denumerators

LCM of 5/8 and 1/2 = LCM of 5,1/HCF of 8,2

LCM of 5,1 = 5

HCF of 8,2 = 2

LCM of 5/8 and 1/2 = 5/2 Ans.

**Example: 3.**

Find the LCM of 2/5, 3/7, 5/8 ?

Solution: Apply the above given formula.

LCM of Fractions = LCM of Numerators/HCF of Denumerators

LCM of 2/5, 3/7 and 5/8 = LCM of 2,3, 5 / HCF of 5, 7, 8.

LCM of 2, 3, 5 = 30

HCF of 5, 7, 8 = 1

So LCM of 2/5, 3/7, 5/8 = 30/1 Ans.

Let us take another example of calculating Fraction's LCM.

**Example: 4.**
Find the LCM of 4/5, 1/7, 2/9 ?

Solution: Apply above formula.

LCM of Fractions = LCM of Numerators / HCF of Denumerators

LCM of 4/5, 1/7 and 2/9 = LCM of 4, 1, 2 / HCF of 5, 7, 9.

LCM of 4, 1, 2 = 4

HCF of 5, 7, 9 = 1

So LCM of 4/5, 1/7, 2/9 = 4/1 Ans.

Note: the product of two numbers is equal to the product of their LCM and HCF.

A*B= LCM of A and B * HCF of A and B.
